Study Model (diagnostic wax-up)

One of the ideal methods in simulating the final work is diagnostic wax-up. Before any grinding on the teeth, a mold is taken from the patient’s mouth and in the laboratory, according to the occlusion, fit between the teeth, protrusion or inwardness of the tooth relative to the jaw arch and edentulous space, the proposed treatment plan is selected according to the doctor’s request.

In short, the role of diagnostic wax-up can be divided into three categories:

  1-Correct communication between the patient and the dentist and observing the results of the work before grinding the teeth
2-Making very accurate temporary restorations
3-Helping the dentist in the amount of teeth grinding, or in other words, conservative grinding
